Spin Spin Spin: My First Gradient

I had a lot more spinning to do.

I had a lot of sock fiber left, so I got to dyeing.

I wanted to do something different. I wanted to make a yarn

that starts on one side in one color and ends on the opposite side with

another.

And I wanted there to be a fade.

I spun 2 bobbins finely, as finely as I ever have.

The first bobbin burgundy and brown,

The second purple, orange and gold.

Shades of pink were added at the end .

Then they were ready to ply.

Hand Dyed by Me

I had a shawl in mind when designing this colorway.

Superwash Merino 70%, Nylon 30%, 2 Ply, Stock Dyed with food grade dyes. Fingering weight, some sport. 400 yds.

Available in my Etsy shop.
