My First 2 Ply Handspun

Determined to improve my spinning skills, and armed with a bagful of wool,  I embarked on a journey to spin a more consistent single.  I began by spinning this blue wool,  which was hand dyed by me:

I had a real breakthrough, thanks to my intent.  I finally spun something more even:

At this point, having achieved this much, I knew I could make a 2 ply yarn.  My next step was to make another single.  I chose some very bright colors, and dyed some more roving!  Here’s the rolags for my second single:

I then spun those into a single, and set up the wheel to ply:

And here’s the final yarn, my very first 2 ply:

I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!  I’ve made progress with my spinning skills.  It’s taken awhile,  but concentration and persistence brings great rewards 🙂

Take care and thanks for reading!
