Pattern Design Update – Basic Briefster Latest Makes

My first sewing pattern, the Basic Briefster, will soon be ready for release.

I have earlier posts on this design, from how I began making my own underwear, to how I decided to publish my first pattern from it. What began as a garment that I sewed for myself became a way to realize my dream of becoming a pattern designer. If you’re interested in reading previous posts on how this idea was developed, there’s 4 of them: 1, 2, 3, 4.

I’ve been busy attending to all the details, to make sure that everything is in order and ready. While testing how well the pattern prints out, I’ve sewn 2 pairs: 1 for myself and 1 for my daughter. These 2 pairs shown are sizes S and 4X.

Size 4X:

The fabric these models are made up in is micro modal, a very soft and comfortable fabric. It’s both breathable and silky, making it an excellent choice for undergarments. It’s one of the recommended fabrics for my pattern, and gives a lux finish to the completed garment.

Have you sewn you own underwear yet? Would you be interested in trying?

I’ll be posting more on the pattern in coming weeks, so stay tuned here for more info.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
