New Spins

I have a lot of sari silk, and I’ve been finding ways to put it to good use: mixing it with wool and alpaca. Its really cool material, it goes very far. It’s a recycled/upcycled product to begin with, and I’m still discovering how to work with it.

My recent yarns are 2 very different approaches. The first is a single, worsted weight, composed of my home processed, hand dyed wool, carded up with sari silk and suri alpaca:

The second is an art yarn, spun thicker with airy bubbles, and wrapped in tinsel thread. Same colorway and materials, but it looks very different:

I’ll be doing one more spin in this colorway, and I might try corespinning for the first time. After that my focus will be more wool washing & dyeing for a spring and summer yarn surprise!

Thank you for reading 🙂
