This pattern, published by Simplicity and designed by Sew House Seven, is a casual athleisure dress that caught my daughter’s eye. It has 2 different dress styles and 2 hoodie shirts, which are just shortened versions of the 2 dress views. We made the View C dress, a 1 piece dress with an attached hood and a large side seam pocket.
The garments of this pattern are designed for stretch knit fabric only. She chose a beautiful floral sold by Stylemaker Fabrics. It’s a vertical one way print, which meant being extra careful when laying out the pattern pieces for cutting.
I actually sewed this dress up pretty quickly – knits are always a fun sew, and they make the best comfort clothes. The dress put together easily, and looks lovely on her. I’m so happy for her that she has a new handmade dress!

I’m really pleased with this pattern. The sizing is correct, I didn’t have to make any adjustments, so I was able to sew it up in a flash. The fit and length are perfect too. No complaints at all about this pattern. 10/10, I highly recommend 8790 for a satisfying sew.
